Equus by Peter Shaffer

Equus is an electrifying journey into the mind of Alan Strang, a 17-year-old stableboy who has committed violent acts to multiple horses. As psychiatrist Martin Dysart explores the young boy's tortured psyche, the play becomes something of a detective story, a shattering confrontation between the passionate spirit and the conformity of "civilized" society.
